How to Play

The Basics

Otis is a Mac implementation of a game also known as Same Game, Clickomania, or Chainshot. The object of the game is to remove all the blocks from the board by clicking on groups of two or more blocks with the same color.

Starting a Game

To start a game, either click the "New Game" button on the main menu, or choose "New Game" from the File menu. You're given several choices from there:

Scoring

The score for a move is calculated as (n - 1)2, where n is the number of blocks zapped. Therefore, the incentive is to position things in such a way so you can zap more blocks at one time.

If you are successful in elimating all of the blocks on the board, a 25% bonus is added to your score.

If you get a high score, you will be asked to enter your name so it can be added to a place in the high scores list.

What's with all the silly names? The names in the default high scores are from books, plays, Simpsons prank phone calls, and John Hodgman's list of 700 fake hobo names in The Areas of My Expertise.
