Due to similarity in the names and function, it is possible that the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2011B LAN PCI Adapter (WPCI2011B) may be confused with the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2011 LAN PCI Carrier (WPCR2011). It is important to note that these products are not the same, nor are there any dependencies between them.
The Intel® PRO/Wireless 2011B LAN PCI Adapter consists of a carrier card that contains a MiniPCI slot populated by a MiniPCI card. It is shipped as a complete product that does not require a separately purchased card.
In contrast, the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2011 LAN PCI Carrier is a PCMCIA-to-PCI conversion card designed to provide a means for the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2011 LAN PC Card to be used in a desktop PC. It requires that the PC Card be purchased separately.
