Multiple Monitor Support
Sharpshooter has the ability to work with screenshots that span multiple monitors. If you have two or more displays attached to your computer, a full screenshot can produce multiple image files. Sharpshooter gives you three options for working with those images. You can can merge them into one image file, rename them as a group, or rename each image file individually.
The Preferences window has three options for multiple monitor support.
When "Compositing screens to a single image" is selected, Sharpshooter will take all of the files associated with a single screenshot and present them together in one window. When you rename them with Sharpshooter, those Picture 1.png, Picture 1(2).png, and Picture 1(3).png files will get combined into one single image file with the new name you provided.
When "Modify screen images as a group" is selected, Sharpshooter will take all of the files associated with a single screenshot and present them together in one window. This option differs from above in that when you rename the screenshot with Sharpshooter, those Picture 1.png, Picture 1(2).png, and Picture 1(3).png files will remain as separate files but each one will get renamed with the new name you provided. The non-primary files will keep their (2) and (3) suffixes.
When "Modify screen images individually" is selected, Sharpshooter will show each separate file in its own window. With this method, you can give Picture 1.png a completely different name than what you rename Picture 1(2).png to.
The Action popup button in the renaming window toolbar allows you to change which option to use on an individual screenshot basis. If your normal preference is to composite the multiple screens together but you just took a screenshot where you only want to keep the main screen, then select "Separate These Screenshots" to split the screens up into their own windows. Then you can quickly give the file of the main screen a name and click Move to Trash with the other files.
