Windows® Driver and DLL Kit

This Windows® Driver and DLL Kit (DDK) installs the low level DLLs and USB device drivers necessary to operate on any Validity® VFS300 family and VFS201 fingerprint sensor in the Microsoft Windows® operating system.

An application program is not included and must be provided by the customer. If Validity-supplied applications are required, please use Validity's VFS300 Family Technology Evaluation Kits (TEKs). Windows® DDK Files

Before installing this DDK, verify that you are logged into Windows® using an account with Administrator privileges. As with any program installation, Windows® will allow only an account with Administrator privileges to install and modify drivers, DLLs, or programs.

YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN AS AN ADMINISTRATOR TO INSTALL THIS DDK !

Software_License_Agreement_-_Distribution_doc.pdf
This is the software license agreement in Adobe® PDF format. This agreement should be printed out, signed, and faxed back to Validity Sensors, Inc. before distribution of Validity's drivers or DLLs commences.

ValiditySensorsSetup.exe
This will automatically select one of the 32 or 64 bit installers to run based on the current operating system (OS). It can be run on any Windows® XP, Windows Vista ® or Windows 7® system. If the target OS is already known to be either 32 or 64 bits, this file can be skipped in favor of directly running one of the installers below.

Supporting Files
Other files in this DDK are supporting files that are not required to install the fingerprint sensor drivers or DLLs. They are:

index.htm
This file. Index.htm offers a web-based introduction to the DDK.

autorun.inf, validity.ico
When found on removable media such as a CD, autorun.inf automatically launches the index.htm web page if the user's system is configured to do so. It also displays the Validity Sensors, Inc. icon, validity.ico, as the directory icon.

docs directory
This directory contains all DDK documentation such as Release Notes and License Agreements.

Driver directory
This directory contains device driver files, including unsigned drivers. It is not necessary to use these files unless you are manually installing device drivers. The installers above will automatically install or update the device drivers during normal operation.

images directory
This directory contains images for the index.htm web pages. If index.htm is not used, this directory can be ignored.
